Nurse Manager Neonatal Intensive Care Units

The Neonatal Nurseries provide specialized nursing care for sick infants of all gestational ages. These units are California Children's Services (CCS) designated Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). As such, we are a referral center for northern California up to the Oregon and Nevada borders and south to San Joaquin County areas. Infants who come to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery (SCN) have a multitude of diagnoses or problems including: prematurity, the need for cardiac, neurological, retinal, genetic, and surgical services; the need for ventilatory support, extensive cardiopulmonary monitoring, and/or treatment for sepsis. The NICU is the critical care nursery. Infants in this unit receive 1:1 or 1:2 hands-on nursing care depending on their acuity. The SCN is the step-down unit. Infants in this unit receive 1:3 or 1:4 depending on acuity. This position will assume 24 hr. responsibility for clinical, administrative and management functions for the Neonatal and Special Care Nursery.  Minimum three years of clinical nursing experience - one of which shall have been in a facility with a Neonatal ICU or equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.  Supervisory exprience required.
