Nurse Practitioner (NP)

An established Pain Management Practice in Woonsocket, RI is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner with the possiblility of becoming a  full-time position.  The part-time Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for: 
Collaborating with the physician, nurse and other healthcare workers to develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care that integrates the medical and nursing disciplines. Collecting data based information by obtaining a health and medical history, performing a physical examination and constructing a problem list. Collecting, recording and interpreting data according to a problem oriented approach. Ordering specific laboratory studies and x-rays and other studies, as appropriate, interpreting results, developing an appropriate plan of care and implementing the plan with nursing and medical staff to achieve a positive outcome.  Recording data collected on the patient record in a problem oriented manner and documenting history, physical findings, diagnosis and treatment. Prescribing medications established by law within the State of Rhode Island, including all legend drugs.  Maintaining a professional manner in all communication with patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis and management possibilities.

 

Scope of Care: 

The Nurse Practitioner is authorized to provide physical and functional examinations for patients who present to the Pain Management Practice.

 

 

Required Criteria;Be licensed as a Register Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.  Hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing or a ciertificate of completion form an accredited Nurse Practitioner School  Hold a current Rhode Island license as a Nurse Practitioner.  Hold prescriptive authority (NPP) as licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
