Nurse Practitioner - Psych-NP -Valley Wide

Description We are working with a major behavior healthcare provider that is looking for Psych NP's throughout all of AZ!Directs, coordinates, and provides medical/clinical services to specified consumers within a specific clinic. This includes engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, patient education, and risk assessment, and discharge planning. Has a defined caseload, has productivity goals, and meets the psychiatric needs of any consumer assigned to their clinic. Participates in on-call rotation for the system. Participates in utilization management and quality improvement activities. Functions as the senior clinician on the team. Reports to the Chief Psychiatrist and Area Medical Director for clinical performance and the Site Administrator or Clinical Director for administrative performance.• Serves as the attending psychiatrist/nurse practitioner to assigned consumers. Completes initial psychiatric assessments, progress notes, annual psychiatric updates, family interventions, develops differential diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, patient education, progress towards treatment goals including medical, psychological, social, behavioral and developmental aspects of the consumer’s situation. • Documents consumer's progress in the clinical record in addition to medication flow sheets according to established policy. Completes medication education and informed consent when possible. • Documents all activities in the clinical record according to policy using approved forms. • Orders follow-up blood levels and supportive laboratory tests according to standard medical practice. Reviews the health assessment completed by nursing staff, obtains a past and current medical history. Initiates contact with Primary Care Physicians, Emergency Room clinicians and psychotherapists according to established guidelines. Requirements Education: Completion of an accredited NP program with Psychiatric Mental Health Certification or ANCC Certified as Psy-NP. Licensures: Licensed by the State of Arizona; eligible for Board Certification and valid DEA Certification. Relevant Work Experience: Three (3) or more post-doctoral years' experience in the delivery of mental health treatment of children/adolescents/adults. RemX OfficeStaff is an Equal Opportunity Employer
