Nurse Supervisor - Adolescent Psych - UMASS Medical School-Westborough

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

In an Adolescent Psych unit, under the general supervision of the nurse manager, directs the daily activities of the nursing staff to facilitate optimal patient care.  Collaborates with the nurse manager in implementation and evaluation of primary nursing and quality assurance and all educational activities on assigned unit.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•Current registration to practice professional nursing in MA

•Two to three years of psychiatric care and/or related nursing experience.

•Demonstrated leadership experience.

•Demonstrated ability to practice primary nursing in area of clinical specialty; to function independently; to problem solve; to make decisions; to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing; to cope effectively in stressful situations.

•Demonstrated ability to guide, direct, and counsel milieu staff and to function effectively as a clinical role model for nursing staff.
