Nursing Systems Analyst - Information Systems
Responsible for the day to day support for Nursing computerized applications purchased for SMMC and offsite locations. Coordinates the implementation of software applications and updates. Acts as liaison between users departments and software vendors. Acts at the technical resource for application users and primary contacts. Responsible for coordinating all changes with the Clinical and Financial Systems Analyst for maximized system integrity. Responsible for maximizing the use automated systems to increase the efficiency of user activities and minimize costs. Coordinates software training, documentation of new policies and procedures as they relate to the Hospital Information System (HIS), continuing education for users in various departments, and user problem resolution.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by Maine State Board of Nursing. Verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in order to deal with users at all levels of the organization as well as outside vendors. Requires ability to grasp technical information, strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as definition, analysis, development, and documentation sills, Project management skills, required. Keyboarding skills required. Minimum of five years previous work experience on a hospital nursing unit required. Work experience in a variety of nursing disciplines highly desirable. Experience care plans, critical pathways required. Experience with computerized order entry results reporting, care planning, documentation, nurse scheduling systems desired. Experience with HIS software installation/maintenance required. Experience with computer hardware such as crt's, printers, hand held devices highly desirable.
