Yoh Health Care has an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity for an OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE in Simi Valley, CA. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE’S RESPONSIBILITIES:• Manages occupational health needs for the Simi Valley area and supports the EHS team in the implementation of EHS goals. • Promote health and safety by protecting employees from potential workplace hazards. • Develop case management plans for modified or lost-time cases to facilitate optimum recovery and early return to work for ill or injured employees. • Apply healthcare cost containment measures while preserving the health of the workforce and provide emergency medical care to employees as needed. • Manage plant injury cases, and provide first aid and treatment of minor work related injuries. • Administer first aid supplies. • Manage employee workers compensation claims. • Manage occupational monitoring programs for employees (hearing conservation, PPE, ergonomics, forklift physicals, incident drug testing program, respiratory fitness, exposure monitoring, etc), as well as implement and support EHS wellness programs. • Provide support in the development and training for various EHS programs: first aid/CPR, blood borne pathogens, ergonomics, etc. • Ensure compliance with Alcoa worldwide health protocols and OSHA regulations, development and maintenance of policies and procedures. • Support of EHS staff, and perform other duties as assigned. • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and environmental health and safety rules.REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing (e.g. RN). • Occupational Health Nurse Certification preferred. • Minimum of 2-3 year’s hands-on occupational health experience including industrial nursing experience, and worker’s compensation management. • Must be knowledgeable in the field of health education, counseling, environmental health and rehabilitation. • Excellent organizational skills and resourceful, energetic and adaptable; • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Strong leadership and communication skills. • High level of interpersonal skills, effective at all levels of the organization and with regulatory agencies. • Ability to display a high degree of confidence, tact, and diplomacy and ethical conduct.Discover all that’s possible with Yoh Health Care.
