Office/Billing Supervisor - Mental Health

MENTAL HEALTH OFFICE/BILLING SUPEVISOR

Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years mental health billing experience. Misys medical software experience preferred. Strong medical office operation skills are required and include experience in credentialing, medical billing, scheduling and office supervision

I.         A.    Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:

 

 The support unit provides support services to all clinical staff and program supervisors.  The unit is responsible for collecting and reporting monies, ensuring documentation of services provided.  Other services provided are in the areas of the specialized processing of documents, clerical, administrative, and procedural duties.  Support service is provided to Psychiatrists, clinicians, case managers, program supervisors, and other contracted agencies as needed.

 

 

 

 

        B.    Work Schedule:

 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Monday – Friday

  1.         In accordance with Human Resources Director’s guidance and procedures, the Office Manager is directly responsible for the establishment, coordinating and monitoring of work routines insuring that tasks and functions are completed as required, developing and/or revising work procedures and methods, reviewing individual performance, counseling, resolving issues and recommending disciplinary action for support staff to the Human Resources Director.  The Office Manager is directly responsible for support staff to providing their duties. Responsible for maintaining Evergreen Behavioral Management, Inc. support staff training records, coordinating with the training office; arranging for support staff to attend training classes and maintaining a source of training resources for support staff. This position is responsible for insuring that telecommunications and computer systems are operational and maintained. Create and maintain a medical record on all active and discharged clients.  Ensure information released from active and discharged medical records is in compliance with applicable confidentiality rules and regulations. Maintain an accurate Release Disclosure on all medical records. Ensure all documentation is filed in a timely manner and contains all the appropriate dates, times and signatures in order to authenticate the documents. Audit medical records as set forth in State, Medicaid and Agency guidelines to ensure medical records are up to date and maintained in compliance.   Position may serve as back up for receptionist or other support staff as deemed necessary and appropriate.



 

  KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS & ABILITIES AND TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

1.  Electronic Medical Records experience required. General knowledge of medical terminology is required in certain settings.  Skill in establishing rapport with a client is a plus.  Must have basic computer skills. Ability to multitask, ie., handle several duties at one time is required.  Must be able to type and answer telephones appropriately.  Ability to communicate in oral and written form.  Preferences will be given to persons with medical office knowledge or related experience.

 



 Equivalent Training and Experience:

 

Completion of high school and two years of related experience; or graduation from a two-year secretarial science or business administration program with courses in secretarial techniques and practices and one year of related experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on business administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
