What you’ll be doing: Preparing instruments for decontamination by sorting and selecting correct process to ensure integrity and prevent damage to rigid instruments, power instruments, flexible scopes and any surgical equipment being processed Preparing instrumentation for exposure of all surfaces to decontamination process by flushing, disassembling and opening all items, and loading of mechanical washers
Operating all washers, sterilizers, sonics and all other equipment
Inspecting instruments and ensuring they are free of bio-burden and in proper working condition
Initiating repairs and performing required maintenance
Rotating supplies and trays and verifying integrity of sterile packaging materials of stored items
Monitoring any expiration dates and removing expired items
Monitoring, preparing, replenishing and rotating stock to maintain proper levels of surgical instrumentation and stock
Monitoring inventory of department-specific supplies

What you’ll need to be successful: Previous central sterile or sterile processing experience with an understanding of surgical instrumentation, surgical supplies and supply control
Two years related experience
Excellent attention to details, communication and customer service skills
Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with the ability to re-establish priorities
Ability to work under stressful conditions
Knowledge and understanding of a computerized inventory system and instrument tracking system
