Ophthalmic Assistant/Technicians

The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is a specialty hospital providing outstanding patient care for disorders of the eye, ear, nose, throat, head and neck. MEEI is also an international leader in Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology research and a teaching partner of Harvard Medical School. Founded 180 years ago in Boston, today the Infirmary is a global resource for patients and clinicians alike.

We currently have positions open for Certified Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians in the Glaucoma, Cornea/Refractive and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Departments. These positions are full time, with benefits, regular Monday through Friday hours, and require no nights or weekends. In these positions, you will be responsible for performing a full range of ophthalmic functions such as performing initial patient screening with a detailed history, and performing such tests as visual acuity (near and distance, infants and children), color vision, manual lensometry, pupil testing, axial length, auto refraction, estimation of Anterior Chamber depth and basic Slit Lamp Examination. Other tests may include applanation tonometry, automated visual fields (perimetry), auto keratometry, corneal topography, and external photography.

Qualified Candidates will have: - Current JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant - or at least 1 year of experience in a supervised setting as an Ophthalmic Assistant.  These positions are currently available at our Boston location.
