QUALIFICATIONS: 

State & National Certified & Licensed Pharmacy Technician

· High School Graduate or equivalent; or currently enrolled in high school

· Previous technician experience helpful

· Course in Medical Terminology helpful

· Computer experience helpful

· Ability to sit for long periods of time

· Good communication skills

· Neat/clean appearance and habits

· Punctual

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Enter new orders and check for duplicate therapy.  Enter hours of administration. 

· Follow pharmacy non-covered procedures and billing procedures.

· Follow pharmacy procedures on auto stop orders and clarifications.

· Complete refill order procedures according to client specific criteria and appropriate client profile

· Follow pharmacy procedure for early refills, telephone refills, auto stop medications and narcotics.

· Complete requests for supplies ordered by facility including Enterals/Nutritionals, and EDK replacement.

· Admit new residents into pharmacy profiles when intake is not available

· Discontinue medications per client specific instructions

· Maintain knowledge of several fill types in order to process labels correctly

· Calculate vacation/LOA quantities

· Assist in training new pharmacy data entry personnel

· Follow through with requests for special delivery/STAT orders.  Forward problem situations unable to be solved quickly to Triage.

· Be familiar with emergency pharmacy procedures

· Be familiar with all pharmacy labeling requirements
