Overnight Counselor Positions

Counselors (Overnight and evenings) needed for Adolescent Residential Program to provide direct care and supervision to residents.  Experience is not required.  Training will be provided. 

Responsibilities

Responsible for recording client activities; and oversee and reports daily routines
uses appropriate de-escalation, and crisis intervention in response to problems
establishes positive relationships with residents within professional boundaries

Performs one-to-one counseling, supervises and/or participates in group encounters, supervises and/or participates in all official functions of the program including community group meetings, public speaking engagements, and other functions as may be assigned by senior staff.

Requirements
High School completion or equivalency is required.

Bachelor's degree; or Counselor Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain) Experience is not required.  Training will be provided

*Must be available to work evening or overnight shifts*

Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license.

Knowledge or interest in the field of substance abuse treatment or two years of paid or volunteer experience in a social service agency or setting.

* Candidate must meet federal, state and local Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Indexing requirements *

Must be drug and alcohol free for a minimum of three (3) years.
