PACS Application Analyst

Skinner and Associates (www.SkinnerandAssociates.com ) is a Healthcare IT recruiting firm. We currently have a major health care system in Springfield, MA, seeking 2 Applications Analyst -a Sr. PACS Applications Analyst and a PACS Application Analyst. 

This position performs the implementation of vendor-supplied software packages including the installation, customization, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing support.  Develops functional specifications for software development projects and resolves complex application use issues.  Plans and coordinates the client involvement in completion of related IS tasks.

Receives and responds to support calls from users.  Log calls in Help Desk system.  Uses Help Desk system to document call status and ultimately, call resolution.  Plans and coordinates end user involvement in the completion of IS tasks. Keeps management apprised of progress, plans and issues via weekly status reports.

• Develops functional specifications for both vendor-based and internally developed software development projects
• Monitors ongoing IS projects insuring adherence to established timetables and client satisfaction with the product
• Prepares course documentation, along with training coordinator, and helps facilitate the training of both new and current applications
• Receives and responds to support requests from clients and insures the timely and effective resolution of any and all problems
• Leads major projects involving new and existing systems.  May assign and monitor daily work of other programmer/analysts.

Performs project management oversight and documentation for IS projects associated with the PACS.

This is a pure IT analyst position and not a typical PACS Administration role.

REQUIREMENTS:

-  Experience as an Analyst in IS. 
-  PACS/Radiology system experience. 
-  Clinical background (radiology preferred) is required.
-  Bachelor degree required
-  Minimum 6-10 years in Healthcare Information
-  Minimum 2 years in a clinical discipline
-  Experience in a project management and implementation of vendor supplied software packages

The salary range is $60K - $73K for the PACS Analyst and $71K - $85K for the Sr. PACS Analyst.  A complete job description is available for review for both positions.
