PHARMACIST - MONDAY - FRIDAY, NO ON-CALL!

Private oncology practice is seeking a licensed pharmacist with retail pharmacy to manage a closed door pharmacy.  The pharmacy formulary focuses on oral chemotherapy and biologic agents. Supportive care drugs and Hematopoietic growth factors are also dispensed for patient self administration.

 

Our pharmacy is open Monday through Friday. This position offers weekends off, no On-Call, PTO benefits accrue to 16 days in 1st year and offers 9 paid holidays each year.

 

Requirements:

 

The pharmacist must be licensed to practice in the State of Texas and knowledgeable of its pharmacy laws and regulations. Must be in good standing with with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Must have retail pharmacy and chemotherapy experience.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·Screening and interpretation of prescription orders.

·  Appropriate preparation of prescription orders.

·  Appropriate appearance of all finished products.

·  Monitoring of each patient’s medication profile and drug therapy for drug related interactions.

·  Proper use of equipment.

·  Proper calculation of dosages or formulations.

·  Final check of all pharmaceuticals prior to dispensing.

·  The effective communication with physicians, nurses and ancillary personnel in relation to drugs.

·  The dissemination of information about drugs and drug products to patients and other health care professionals.

·  The security of the pharmacy and its drugs, including dispensing documentation.

·  Responsibly of purchasing of drugs. Contracting and proficient in the use of on-line insurance verification and billing software.

·  Notification to proper authorities about untoward effects and errors in drug administration.
