PHARMACIST - Management

We currently have full time positions open for a Clinical Pharmacy Manager (x2), Staff/Clinical Pharmacist and a 3rd shift Pharmacist  in the Richmond, VA area.  These are hospital based positions that offer excellent salaries and benefits.

Clinical Pharmacy Manager

In this position, you'll oversee pharmacy operations under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy.  Hospital has a census of approx.  375 beds.

You'll also consult on drug utilization with medical and nursing, and physicians. Will be the educator for the pharmacy and physicians on staff, as well as FP residents. . This position would be working with physicians on rounds, and FP residents if they desire

Shift/Schedule: This position is fulltime, permanent Monday through Friday. No weekends. (may have to pitch in on a weekend if necessary)

Requirements:  advanced pharmacy degree is preferred; VA pharmacy license; and 5 years' relevant experience in Acute Care is mandatory.  Residency is preferred, Board Certification a plus. (Will consider extensive experience in home health also). Background in Cardio, Beacon, Peds, Pych and Critical Care would be an asset.

Hospital confers with sister hospital on a weekly basis, and share duties.  Candidate will work closely with the pharmacy team, and will share duties on the P&T committee. Candidate needs to be a team player, work well with others.

Pharmacist

In this position, you'll compound and dispense medications using prescriptions authorized by a physician. You'll instruct patients on medication including potential drug interactions and review patient medication history for allergies and drug interactions.  Pharmacists will input orders on robotic equipment and be a will be on the floor as well.  Knowledge of meditech, excel would be an asset.Shift/Scheduling: Hospital has 2 fulltime staff/clinical pharmacy needs with a day/evening rotation (and every third weekend) openings.  There are 2 evening shifts: one is from 12-8:30 and the other is 2:30 - 11:00.  On the weekend, the evening shift is 1-9:30.  On average, staff work about 4-6 evenings per month.  They work the evening shift on the weekend about once every 12 weeks.Requirements: BS in Pharmacy, previous hospital experience is a plus. Must be licensed in the state of VA.

Clinical Pharmacy Manager- Mid $50's

300 Bed Facility is looking for a Clinical Manager to provide clinical administration, training/mentoring, monitor outcomes, manage P&T Committee and oversee the formulary management, run Medical Staff meetings.  Total staff is roughly 30 FTE's, however this position will only be responsible for leading the 15 FT Pharmacists. Candidate should expect to provide insight on drug information to providers and students.  Candidate will be reviewing the clinical activities of the pharmacy staff as well as any documentation of clinical effectiveness to help with the development of future clinical programs.  The clinical Pharmacy Manager will be reporting to the Director of Pharmacy

Shift/Scheduling: This is a Day time shift, typically 8am-5pm or until tasks have been completed.  Sign on bonus and relocation assistance will be considered. Candidate must be a Doctor of Pharmacy. Knowledge of the Keane computer system is a plus, but not a must. Prior management experience in a hospital setting or 3-5 years of strong clinical experience is preferred.    Residency is a plus (3-5 years) but is not required.  Must have a valid VA license or the ability to reciprocate to the state

3rd Shift Pharmacist $50+/hour

300 bed facility in Central Virginia is seeking a pharmacist to fill their 3rd shift.  Candidate will be working as the lone pharmacist along with a couple of technicians.  Duties include involvement with multiple drug distribution functions, defined clinical/cognitive activities to optimize therapeutic outcomes under the aegis of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee directives (which include active communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff about the need to clarify and/or change an order along with documentation of intervention outcomes); educational activities with pharmacist colleagues and other health care professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses, etc.) to maintain and advance clinical competency, "supervisory" functions which provide professional oversight and direction of technicians' drug preparation and distribution activities to assure safe and expedient provision of pharmaceutical care for patients and staff.

Requirements: Candidate must possess at the very least a B.S. in Pharmacy.  Must have a valid license in good standing from the State of Virginia, or have the ability to reciprocate to the state. At least 1 year of hospital experience is preferred as the candidate will not be supervised and must be familiar with the environment
