We need a clinical Pharmacist In Charge to assist in managing our specialty pharmacy.


The qualified applicant will:


• Be a Registered Pharmacist with clinical experience, preferably research;
• Understand coverage writing and prior authorizations;
• Must be able to digest and navigate clinical studies to substantiate approve/denial claims
• Be able to research literature to find how current issue applies to coverage;
• Read therapy evaluation and translate it into how it fits into their medical coverage;
• Previous experience as clinical coordinator a big plus.
• He/she will review and evaluate individual drug orders for efficacy, safety and cost.
• Document and manage the care provided to patients.
• Supervise the drug distribution operation and is responsible for assuring safe and efficient drug distribution and control system.
• He/She monitors drug therapy and offers cost effective alternatives, as appropriate.
• In addition, routinely communicates with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy, while contributing to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
• Works variable shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends as staffing needs require and as compliments the present clinical pharmacist.
• Have management skills to handle a staff of pharmacists, and pharmacy techs.
