Paramedic or Paramedic Specialist

Job Description:

Full-time, rotating, 12 hour shifts with 12 hours on-call.  Provides advance emergency care in pre-hospital setting, including the evaluation, treatment and transport of injured and/or ill adult, pediatric and newborn patients.  In hospital setting, assists Registered Nurse in providing care to adult and pediatric patients.

Experience Required:

Certified to practice as a paramedic in the State of Iowa.  Possession of current State of Iowa drivers and chauffeurs license.  Acceptable driving record.  Must be ACLS, BLS, PALS certified.  Knowledge of basic arrhythmia and interpretation.  Certification in PHTLS or BTLS preferred.  Hosptial-based ambulance service experience preferred.

Compensation:

Entry level Paramedic $12.47 and Paramedic Specialist $12.78 per hour increased by 3% for every year of qualified experience.  Guaranteed wage increse of 4% effective July 1, 2008. Second shift differential of $1.00 per hour and third shift differential of $1.50 per hour.
