(And that's us) COME JOIN OUR BENEFITMALL TEAM! We are looking for a Part-Time New Business Analyst for our Westchester office.People make the difference at BenefitMall, the nation's largest general agency. We work with independent insurance Brokers who sell employee benefit products to businesses nationwide. At BenefitMall, we view ourselves as an extension of each Broker's support team. We provide Brokers with local market expertise, product price quotes, client proposals, enrollment support and ongoing client services.  The Part-Time New Business Analyst contributes to a dynamic fun-loving team and works closely with brokers and carriers to evaluate new cases insure timely processing.   Responsibilities:Evaluates new case assuring timely and quality underwriting by:Evaluating enrollment materials to determine underwriting actions. Reviewing final rates, benefit options and underwriting requirements. Contacting agents/brokers when a case has been reviewed to request additional information. Generating quotes, based on actual enrollment, to ensure accurate premiums are being sent to the carrier. Notifying agents/brokers status of cases, whether the cases are approved, declined or withdrawn. Adhering to Company confidentiality standards of information. Assists in the processing of broker record of change letters and licensing for agents to assure new agents are correctly paid, carrier guidelines are followed and agents/brokers are properly appointed with each carrier. Keeps abreast of medical conditions/terminology and insurance products. Requirements:Minimum 2 years of underwriting or related medical insurance/group medical experience.Associate degree preferred. Working knowledge of medical conditions/terminology and insurance products. Basic understanding of underwriting principles. Knowledge of computers, the Internet, Windows and Microsoft applications software. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing.Read, comprehend and interpret underwriting procedures, requirements, regulations and contracts. Negotiate with agents and brokers.
