Responsible for being "on-call" as necessary on evenings, weekends and holidays.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Plans, organizes and directs the Patient Access and Registration functions including scheduling, pre-admission, out-patient registration and In-Patient Admissions. Assures effective customer service and maintains processes necessary to support Hospital reimbursement. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: -Schedules staffing assignments to meet patient volume flows and minimum coverage requirements. -Maintains current job knowledge of Meditech Information Systems, industry standards, trends and technological advances. -Develops department goals and related strategies to achieve objectives consistent with the mission and goals of the Finance Division of Cape Cod Hospital. -Directs and coordinates the activities of the scheduling, pre-admission, EC registration, Admission and Insurance Verification sections with each other and with those of other hospital departments. -Insures departmental compliance with State and Federal Regulations, third party payor requirements and the Hospital Compliance Program. -Maintains the highest possible level of data accuracy throughout the continuum of registration/admissions activities and related information system utilization. -Assists in development of departmental budgets, monitors and controls salaries and expenses so as to minimize variances. -Responsible for being "on-call" as necessary on evenings, weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Bachelor's Degree plus up to one year of post degree course work and/or internship. Two to three years Patient Access experience required. Two to three years management experience required.
