Patient Registrar/Scheduler II

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience required.1. Registers patients, obtaining and entering all necessary demographic and financial related information needed as record for registration and billing of all patients' visits.2. Coordinates information from patients to ensure accurate billing and maximum reimbursement. Including:3. Ensures completeness of all registration forms offering assistance if needed.4. Establishes a new electronic patient account/record and accurately enters all patient information into the computer system according to established procedures.5. Updates and corrects patient account information in the computer system.6. Ensures new and updated documentation is filed in the medical record.7. Verifies insurance coverage eligibility prior to the provision of services according to established procedures.8. Informs patient of and collects copays and deductibles prior to scheduled services.9. Prepares and issues receipts, processes credit card payments and properly performs daily cash handling procedures and end-of-day accounting functions. 10. Provides information on account status.11. Prepare daily deposit at end of shift for all patient payments for the day.12. Accountable for maintaining daily balancing of cash drawer.13. Greets, assists and directs patients appropriately.14. Obtains patient signatures according to policy.15. Maintains a strong customer focus while working collaboratively within a team multiple demands and patient needs.16. Treats all patient information confidentially and in accordance with established guidelines.17. Answers telephone, screens calls, provides information to patients and other callers as directed.18. Identify and print lab and x-ray requisitions for patients.19. Assist with error corrections and correcting accounts from assorted work reports.20. Performs other duties according to department needs. Hours: Monday 10:30 - 7:00; Tuesday 8:30 - 5:00; Wednesday 10:30 - 7:00; Friday 8:30 - 5:00 Description: Greets all visitors and callers. Obtains all necessary information from the patients, physicians, nurses and office staff to accurately schedule appointments, procedures and/or test, maximizing efficient use of Covenant provider resources. Effectively communicates schedule and/or changes to patients, departments or offices while maintaining customer focus. Obtains and accurately records necessary demographic, insurance and financial information. Processes referrals. Requests, accepts and accurately processes patient payments. Effectively communicates registration information to internal and external customers, while maintaining a focus on customer service and patient confidentiality. Hours: Monday 10:30 - 7:00; Tuesday 8:30 - 5:00; Wednesday 10:30 - 7:00; Friday 8:30 - 5:00
