Patient Transporter

Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent. Heart Saver/AED certification required during orientation period. Position requires physical stamina and strength. Must be able to walk 95% of the workday. Employee pre-placement health and history examination required. Able to work under high demands for transport services while maintaining customer service standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at appropriate level with both hospital staff and patients. Previous experience in a health care setting helpful.Description: The Transporter, under the supervision of the Transportation Services Manager, provides physical movement of patients, supplies, and equipment throughout the hospital facility. The Transporter as a hospital team member has responsibilities involving indirect and direct patient contact requiring judgements, accountability, and follow through. Within these responsibilities, accepting delegation, communicating effectively and confidentially, and maintaining a safe environment are critical to success in this position. This is a full-time position working 12:30pm - 9:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.
