Patient registrar/scheduler-CMG

Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent, 1-3 yrs experience required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:(i.e. supervision, computers, etc.): 1. Skilled in medical terminology & diagnosis codes. 2. Experience in PC use in windows with proficient keyboarding skills preferred.3. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions.4. Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills and phone etiquette. 5. Ability to relate effectively to a variety of customers in a professional and courteous manner.6. Excellent reading, grammar, and comm skills, w/ demonstrated analytical ability to collectinterpret insurance and contract information.7. Excellent organizational skills.8. Knowledge and experience in insurance coverage. 9. Familiarity with insurance terminology, referrals and authorization/pre-certification used by third party payers.10. Exp handling money including balancing and processing patient payments. Cognitive ability for organizing multiple concepts and information, analyzing data, and basic problems.11. Ability to write clear, concise, and legible message to ensure physician and staff comprehension.12. Experience in appointment making assuring accuracy while adhering to established clinic scheduling guidelines.Description: Position Purpose: Greets all visitors and callers. Operates switchboard and maintains call flow within the clinic. Obtains all necessary information from the patients, physicians, nurses and office staff to accurately schedule appointments, procedures and/or test, maximizing efficient use of Wheaton provider resources. Effectively communicates schedule and/or changes to patients, departments or offices while maintaining customer focus. Obtains and accurately records necessary demographic, insurance and financial information. Processes referrals. Requests, accepts and accurately processes patient payments. Effectively communicates registration information. Processes mail/faxes for the clinic.
