Peer Treatment Navigator

MedStar Research Institute is the research center of MedStar Health, the Baltimore/Washington area's largest health care delivery system. The purpose of the Institute is to conduct and support medical research that results in better treatments and prevention strategies for the major diseases affecting the communities we serve.

 

The Institute is actively seeking qualified applications for a Peer Treatment Navigator to work with our Washington Research Center in Washington DC.

 

Peer Navigators help to identify, link, and retain HIV-infected persons in care, case management, support services, education programs, research opportunities, and navigate patients across a network of city-wide providers.  The Peer Treatment Navigator will have intimate knowledge and experience with HIV disease and treatments related to HIV disease, and are trained to provide support and navigation through the healthcare system for persons with HIV/AIDS.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: High School Diploma (some college preferred)

  Certification or evidence of training and continuing education related to working with those infected with HIV.

 



Experience:  Must have at least 2 years experience within the past 3 years working directly with HIV + persons.
