Performance Measure Specialist (RN)

South Georgia Medical Center is currently seeking a Performance Measure Specialist (RN). The Performance Measure Specialist (RN) is responsible for abstraction of medical records both concurrently and retrospectively for the collection of performance measure indicators which serve as the basis for reporting to the federal government for purposes directly related to the hospital’s reimbursement. Coordinates and facilitates organizational awareness and understanding of the requirements of performance measures such as ASA on arrival for AMI patient, or antibiotic within 4 hours of admission for CHF patient.  Serves as a resource person for hospital staff and physicians in educating staff and others on the whats and the whys of the performance measure indicator definitions and time lines. Works with the Medical Staff and the hospital staff to assure understanding of what and how to document in the medical record to meet the documentation requirements thus validating that the performance measure was met. Assists in maintaining compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements.

 

The qualifications include:

1. Education/Licensure/Certification:

  a. Current RN license in State of Georgia. Will consider NP, PA, or MD with comparable

  qualifications.

 b. Certification in Healthcare Quality desired.

2.   Prefer five to seven years recent clinical experience.

3.   Teaching experience desirable.

4.   Previous experience with PI and data collection strongly desired.

5. Strong ability to establish and maintain close effective working relationships with a variety of

  personnel at all levels within the organization.

6. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills

7.   Flexible in work schedule, able to prioritize.

8.   Ability to formulate letters, memos, and document clinical information on abstracts clearly,

  concisely, and accurately.

9.   Ability to develop, implement and interpret the policies and procedures of South Georgia

  Medical Center.

10. Ability to interpret accrediting and regulatory standards.

11. Strong computer skills required; MS Office, Power Point strongly preferred.
