REQUIREMENTS:Ability to enter medication orders into the pharmacy computer system; Skill in inventory control of pharmaceuticals; Knowledge of job functions of pharmacy staff members; Graduate of a school or college of pharmacy. Current licenses and certifications from the State licensing agency; Prior DUR/Audit and computer experience desirable; Prior management experience preferred. Advanced computer skills with a variety of software programs and knowledge of Internet capabilities to assist the department; A proven ability to manage multiple projects; Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills; Prior secretarial experience, two years or more, preferably at the executive level; Ability to travel locally

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Pharmacist In Charge, the Pharmacy Manager is also responsible for the pharmacy’s compliance with State and Federal laws.  This individual is responsible for the Pharmacy Department’s compliance with JSA’s prime contract requirements.  This individual also oversees the quality management and control of pharmaceuticals and is responsible for the management of dispensing.  Functions of the Pharmacy Manager include, but are not limited to:

 Prepare monthly reports on pharmacy activities:  Financial, Inventory, and Quality issues; Supervises staff pharmacists, technicians and clerks; Schedules pharmacy staff; Conducts Drug Usage Review in accordance with State and Federal guidelines; Files invoices for controlled substances; Controls drug purchasing; Responsible for all aspects of scheduled drug utilization on site in accordance with State and Federal laws; Manages business aspect of pharmacyCounseling and provision of information to patients in accordance with State and Federal Laws and under the HIPAA Guidelines; Filling and labeling of drugs in accordance with State and Federal laws;Others duties as assigned by the Manager of Pharmacy Operations or Sr. Vice President of Pharmacy Operations.
