Assists the Director ofPharmacy, in the development, implementation, interpretation, and revision of department and hospital policies and procedures. Assists the Director with and ensures compliance with all state, federal, CMS, DEA, JCAHO, and OSHA rules, regulations, and laws as they relate to pharmacy practice and medication management. Responsible and accountable for the oversight of facility based activities related to the procurement, storage, preparation, distribution, compounding, monitoring, control, and dispensing of medications and supplies from the Department. Evaluates existing service levels, resources, and staffing to ensure that service needs of all customers are met.Assists the director in supervision of all pharmacists, technicians, and support staff. Works with the clinical pharmacy manager in providing current clinical methodologies to our customers.
Qualifications Required:
3-5 years progressive management experience in a teaching hospital, proficient with MEDITECH v5.54, Pyxis, bar coding, advanced Clinicals, BMV, IV (chapter 797), CPOE, Unit dose, Repackaging. Competency with Federal, State, JCAHO, USP, NIOSH, and OSHA guidelines and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. Licensed to practice in Massachusetts
BS, MS, PharmD, Degree required Advanced Degree preferred
