Phlebotomist/South of Boston

Blood saves lives – and it is always needed.Every two seconds someone in America needs blood. The Red Cross serves as the bridge between over 4 million generous blood donors and millions of patients in need each year. We serve over 3,000 hospitals around the United States. We deliver a wide range of high quality blood products and blood donor and patient testing services. 

We have an immediate need for Phlebotomists who reside South of Boston who will travel to the various blood drives in the community.  If you have recently graduated from a Phlebotomy program, we would like to hear from you.  Comprehensive paid classroom as well as on-the job training will be provided.  Upcoming new hire training classes begin on May 5, June 2 and July 1st.

Phlebotomist 

Job summary:

You will conduct health history interviews and vital signs, determine donor eligibility, perform phlebotomies and promote excellent donor care during the safe collection of blood units. 

 

Work Schedule:

 

Hours vary daily and are based on the scheduled blood drives.  Schedules are given at least 2 weeks in advance and will include some weekend work.

 

You will drive your own vehicle to and from collection sites. A Valid driver's license along with a good driving record is required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Requires job knowledge equivalent to that attained in a High School education.  Recent coursework in Phlebotomy desired.

 

Must exhibit professional and friendly demeanor with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service; effective communication and public relations skills.
