Phlebotomy Supervisor

Leading diagnostic testing facility is currently seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor for our Northern Virginia location. This individual will work under the Area Manager and the Director of Field Operations and be responsible for supervising remote phlebotomy services including Patient Service Centers, Long Term Care, House call and In office phlebotomy and assures compliance with regulatory agencies and policies.

 

Other duties:Organize, schedule and assign work performed by phlebotomists and team leaders.  Monitors work being performed. 

Resolves and documents problems from internal and external customers and ensures that all departmental, HR, EHS and compliance policies and procedures are being followed. 

Monitors the daily performance and recording of quality control activities and is responsible for maintaining appropriate Quality Assurance Data.

Performs corrective action - verbal and written, counsels/coaches staff in problem resolution, performance, and incident review.  Documents accordingly.  Schedules re-training sessions as necessary.

Reviews and maintains all required paperwork, such as payroll, supply usage, expense reports, record of error, and occurrence logs, etc. Forwards all required paperwork to area manager as required.

Conducts semi-annual/annual performance reviews with employees.  Sets goals and expectations for staff members continued development in conjunction with area manager.

Plans and conducts monthly staff meetings to communicate technical developments, policies, and safety requirements to each member of the staff. Develops agenda and ensures empowerment of all employees in this process. 

Ensures that all mandatory safety and compliance training is completed by deadlines set by regional management.  Ensures that all other required training is conducted in a timely manner, i.e. technical, clerical and departmental specific.

Supervise day-to-day operations of 30 - 40 non-exempt individuals and 2 to 3 team leaders.

Interviews and recommends perspective candidates for hire.

 

 

Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework preferred.Phlebotomy Certification preferred. Minimum 3-5 years phlebotomy experience.Minimum of 1 year team leader or other previous supervisory experience in a phlebotomy setting.Should include current knowledge of technical developments, modifications, affecting work environment and changes in agency regulations.One year experience in a customer service centered environment.Travel is required between offices.
