SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Working under the direction of a licensed Therapist, this individual administers patient treatment plans, assesses patient response, and modifies treatment as appropriate within established guidelines. Emphasis is on but not limited to mobility, motor, sensory, perceptual/cognitive, social, developmental and functional skills.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Requires current license in the state of Maine, and knowledge of therapy techniques at a level acquired through completion of entry level assistant program approved by a national organization.

2. All new hires will be placed into level I regardless of prior experience.

3. Requires creative thinking, effective planning, ability to recognize change, report, and record pertinent information.

4. Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes in schedule and patient needs.

5. Requires familiarity with division policies, procedures, equipment, materials and work routines at a level generally acquired during one to three months on-the-job orientation.

6. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients and an interdisciplinary health care team.
