Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners Specialty:  Orthopedic/Out-Patient Spine Surgery Description: Unique and exciting opportunity to become a part of a fast growing and innovative medical practice which has already helped thousands of patients from all over the world.  The Physician Assistant will perform H&P exams, medical clearances, and post-op visits on patients from around the country planning to undergo our cutting edge, minimally invasive spinal procedures.  Great working environment in a beautiful facility over looking Tampa Bay.  Location is just miles from beaches,restaurants, and shopping.  No hospital rounds and call is currently a 1 in 5 weeks from home and will be less frequent as we grow.   Summary: Provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician.  Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel patients.  May, in some cases, prescribe medication.  Must graduate from an accredited education program for physician assistants.  Essential Functions:· Participate in clinic patient encounters including, but not limited to: History and Physicals, post-op visits, medical clearances, pain discussion and MRI discussions· Responsible for communicating essential medical information and findings to the appropriate physicians such as: Anesthesia for pre-surgical clearances, Orthopedic Surgeons for relevant H&P findings, and Internal Medicine Physicians for complex medical/co-morbid conditions affecting potential surgery· Documentation and dictations completed in a timely fashion.  Communicates and collaborates directly with Transcription Department as necessary.· Supports, educates and reassures patients during and after their surgical procedure experience· Reviews appropriate lab findings, results and reports as needed.  Develops and communicates an appropriate medical plan of care as necessary.· Provides individual guidance, education and medical support to the Patient Services Department and Case Managers as needed· Participates in follow-up patient phone calls and develops appropriate post-operative plans of care· Communicates patient plan of care recommendations and assures thorough follow-through with the appropriate Patient Services Department staff Requirements:· Completion of an accredited Certified Physician Assistant /Nurse Practitioner program· 3-7 years of relevant work experience preferred, but not required
