Physician Compensation Consultant

The UMass Memorial Medical Center is the award-wining clinical partner to the University of Massachusetts Medical School and part of the largest non-profit health care system in Central and Western Massachusetts. We are a 771-bed facility spanning three campuses and provide the region with specialists renowned for their work in areas such as cancer, cardiology, emergency medicine, children's medical services including an internationally recognized newborn intensive care unit, and women's health.
PHYSICIAN COMPENSATION CONSULTANT
We are currently seeking an experienced compensation professional to join our growing team in the role of Physician Compensation Consultant. This role will develop and administer a variety of physician and non-physician compensation programs, including base pay and incentives. Specific responsibilities include:
Leading complex projects which may involve performing analysis of competitive pay practices, economic trends, current market position, and cost impact. Gathering, analyzing, and studying appropriate market data. Modeling and making appropriate recommendations based on studies.
Participating in development and administration of annual salary program reviews to include analysis of market data, position-to-market, trends for budgets, pay differentials, salary increase project plan and communications.
Investigating pay inequities and proposing solutions to leadership.
Developing and presenting educational/training programs related to physician compensation as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resources or an equivalent field. Position requires seven years compensation experience, preferably in health care. Prior physician compensation experience preferred, but not required. Must have superior analytical skills, consulting skills, communication (verbal and written) relationship management skills as well as excellent spreadsheet application skills. Must have the demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects.
