Planning Analyst

Looking for an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of a multi-state, non-profit healthcare provider organization? Catholic Health East (CHE), based in Newtown Square, PA has an analyst position available in its Strategy Development Department.

 

This position utilizes databases and a variety of other resources to provide market intelligence and trend analyses that inform strategy development, business planning, service line planning and decision support to CHE and its affiliated hospitals, home care, and senior living provider organizations.

 

Catholic Health East provides the means to ensure the continuation of the Catholic identity and operational strength of the religious sponsors’ health ministries, which are located in 11 states from Maine to Florida.  

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

· Gathers, analyzes and summarizes market, financial and clinical data from:

o  Internal databases

o  demographic and state inpatient databases

o  market sizing and forecasting applications

o Web based providers of strategic healthcare and technology research

 

· Interprets and reports findings including:

o  population and demographic trends

o  geographic and environmental information

o  competitor and health service delivery trends

o  market share

o  utilization forecasts

o  physician loyalty assessments

· Creates accurate, reliable output in a variety of formats including reports, maps, spreadsheets and presentations.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree required

· Master’s Degree in Business or Health Care Administration preferred

· Recent grads encouraged to apply

Experience

· 2-3 years analytic experience in a healthcare environment preferred

· Experience using a planning decision support system such as Thomson Healthcare’s Market Expert preferred

Skills

· Proficiency using spreadsheet and database programs

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong analytic and quantitative skills

· High degree of precision and attention to detail

· Strong customer service and project management skills
