Pool Respiratory Therapist

Requirements: Responsible for providing respiratory care to patients of all ages by administering treatments and procedures both invasive and non-invasive. Evaluates effectiveness of care and makes recommendations to the doctor. Educates patients/family members and staff as needed. Is cross-trained in related service areas such as ED, ICU, and Med Surg units. Ability to act independently as well as cooperatively with colleagues for daily work assignments. Responds to emergency needs throughout the hospital. Performs minor trouble-shooting and maintains documentation in all appropriate areas of the medical record. Complies with infection control and safety practices.This position typically requires a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Description: Problem solving and decision making for patient care and equipment use. Knowledge of Servo i, 900C and 300 ventilators preferred. Ability to organize and effectively administer care during times of increased activity. Must demonstrate effective stress management when interacting with physicians, co-workers, patients and family members. Ability to manage and execute high workloads, take assignment anywhere, respond to STAT situations and complete other duties as assigned.
