Position Description:

A Post-doctoral position is available in an NIH-funded laboratory conducting research in the area of human genomics. The main focus of the research in the laboratory is the study of genetic disorders which result from chromosomal rearrangements like microdeletions, microduplications and translocations. Ongoing projects include discovery of novel rearrangements associated with multiple congenital anomalies; molecular characterization of new genomic disorders, functional analysis of candidate genes and elucidation of mechanisms underlying the rearrangements.The position offered requires an individual who has recently obtained a PH.D. (0-3 years experience) or its equivalent with a strong background in molecular biology and/or molecular genetics. Experience in one or more of the following areas including microarray experimentation and analysis, functional genomics, and animal models of human diseases are also desirable. Familiarity with web-based resources and computational tools for genomic data mining and analysis will be a plus.

Qualifications:
