Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Product Innovation Analyst conducts and coordinates the market research activities related to Product Innovation for the BH SBU. He/she will provide information relating to sales potential and market conditions and new science for MBH products and services. In addition, the analyst will implement full-service qualitative and quantitative research in response to the informational needs of the Magellan Product team. He/she is also primarily responsible for providing and maintaining competitive intelligence and analysis, as well as providing other ad hoc analysis as necessary. Reporting to the VP Product Innovation, he/she works collaboratively with the design team to ensure that all requests are met in an accurate and timely manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Systematically conducts reviews of competitor information (web, press releases, medical literature, conference presentations, RFP responses).Provide proactive support to executive management, sales team, and business development staff with competitor profiling information and product research assessment. • Systematically collects feedback from AE and Sales team on emerging client needs. The information should also help manage risk associated with new business decisions. • Analyze factors such as pricing, distribution, and product performance compared to MBH competitors. Attends external forums to gather information on future trends • Provide market intelligence and research reports and recommendations to management and assist with the development of plans for marketing. • Maintain and update existing competitor profiles using research materials and internal competitive intelligence. Play a strategic role in business growth by analyzing the competitive environment and future trends. Perform ad hoc research projects as needed.
