Join us and find the career of a lifetime. Professional Medical Technologist applies knowledge and skills to learn the principles and perform a variety of microbiology tests. Pursues advanced knowledge and training in microbiology assays. Produces accurate and complete results. Exercises professional judgment in determining the acceptability of results prior to release to the patient records. Performs quality control testing according to established protocol. Recognizes quality control problems and notifies senior staff. Executes corrective action as directed by senior staff. Updates senior staff on problem resolution as applicable. Operates and maintains instruments according to protocol and as directed by senior staff. Requires a BS degree in biological science, chemical science, or medical technology, or graduate degree with related experience required. MT (ASCP) certification or eligible from approved school of medical technology or equivalent may be required. Other training combined with experience in particular area may be required. This position is located in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
