Program Director - LVN or RN

Want to further your nursing skills by learning more about a specialized field?  A beautiful assisted living community in Santa Maria is seeking a Nurse to direct the Alzheimer's and dementia program.  This is a highly visible position in a successful community.  A  background working withAlzheimer's or dementia residents is a plus but they are willing toprovide training to the right person.

The day-to-day job:
* Review and revise the program to ensure that it is meeting the changing needs of the residents;
* Find ways to enhance the quality of a good program;
* Provide assessments to potential and existing residents;
* Manage all unit staff including caregivers, Activity Director and med techs;
* Communicate with resident's families and help them to understand the Alzheimer's or dementia that has affected their loved one;
* Liaison with resident's physicians regarding medications, changes in condition, etc.
* Continue to provide a "team-oriented" environment and inspire loyalty in staff;
* Work with the Executive Director on budgets and financial reports for department.

Requirements:
* LVN or RN in good standing in CA;
* 3+ years nursing experience with 1+ year in a management or supervisory role;
* Experience working with seniors, dementia experience is a plus;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Good organizational skills;
* Some experience working with basic computer programs;
* Ability to work alone or as part of a team
