Proposal Writer

Medical Staffing Network is seeking a Proposal Writer for our Oakbrook Terrace, IL office to lead the company's proposal efforts in capturing government business.

Responsible for all day-to-day proposal management activities, including development of work plans, schedules and milestones
• Leads kick-off and status meetings for prime and subcontractor/teaming partner proposal efforts
• Facilitates development of all written (such as technical approach, staffing plan, past performance, resumes, etc) and cost/price components of the proposal; develops themes and discriminators
• Interfaces with sales and subject matter expects from various company components to ensure consistency, concurrency and accuracy of content
• Maintains understanding of bid strategies as they evolve; develops methods for integrating/capturing the final bid strategy in the proposal
• Creates RFP outline, including page allocation, based on weight of evaluation criteria
• Ensures proposal structure complies with RFP requirements
• Monitors all Government communications concerning the solicitation; manages incoming communications/ Government responses and updates requirements accordingly
• Facilitates proposal team reviews to produce quality and actionable feedback
• Develops, scores and maintains compliance matrix against RFP requirements
• Coordinates and performs proposal editing, formatting, and production activities for hardcopy and softcopy submissions
• Coordinates with multiple organizations, including but not limited to Marketing, Contracts, Legal, & Pricing, etc.
• Contributes to continuous improvement activities

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of proposal management experience relating to Government solicitations
• Wide breadth of experience supporting bid and proposal efforts for Federal Government agencies; must be familiar with DoD
• Previous in-house experience in a government contractor corporate environment
• Experience applying knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
• Expertise in the use of Microsoft Word is required, including use of styles, formatting, and professional presentation of written material
• Knowledge and experience with editing and formatting charts and schedules for technical sections of proposals
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel for cost/price proposals
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong facilitation and communication skills
• Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision making abilities
• Ability to interface and negotiate with executive level management
