Through our family of companies, we contribute outstanding clinical insight with consumer-friendly services and advanced technology to help people achieve optimal health.**This job can be worked from any UHG office in the US** OptumHealth improves the quality and efficiency of health care through personalized, caring and lifelong services for consumers and employers. Primary Responsibilities: Proposal Management:  Act as project lead to effectively oversee the proposal process and assists Sales VP with strategic input, development of strategy memo, proposal management, quality review, packaging and delivery of proposals.  Identify areas where standard proposal responses can be customized to meet prospect's needs. Coordinate presentations to include site notification, client-specific preparation and follow-up. Interact with brokers and consultants on proposals.  Interface with internal UHG/UHC functional areas throughout the proposal process.  Coordinate post mortem data gathering process to evaluate the competitiveness of the bids.  Function as an extension of the Sales VP when Sales VP is traveling or not immediately available.  Manage the Sales VP's internal business while Sales VP is externally engaged. Territory planning and Prospect Development Process: Support relationship development through outbound calls to all prospects on a regularly scheduled basis.  Use calls and other research to obtain pertinent information such as the key decision makers, current carrier, current benefit design, anniversary and probable bid date, health benefits philosophy and/or strategy, concerns with current health benefits program.  Attend local board meetings and other types of open meetings to increase opportunities for relationship development and marketing.  Manage periodic mailings to prospects and handle mailing follow-up.  Support conference marketing and follow-up activities. Collaborate with the Sales VP to develop a territory plan, using the Territory Planning/Target Account Selling (TAS) methodology. Manage the completion of all the worksheets in the Territory Plan Template.  Update the Territory Plan on at least a quarterly basis, based on the status of prospects within the territory.  Ensure accuracy of information in the Territory Plan. Collaborate with the Sales VP to develop and manage TAS plans and/or ESP Plans for prospects.  Manage the completion of all the worksheets in the TAS/ESP templates. Update the plans on a regular basis until the prospect's decision is known.  Ensure all activities and due dates in the plan are tracked and updated.  Manage the completion and periodic updates to the TAS 1-20 scoring for all prospects.  Ensure all due dates are met. Work with other Strategic Sales Consultants and Sales VPs to develop best practices, share information and maximize efficiencies. Reporting and Database Management: Update Company, Opportunity and other records in Atlas on a regular basis as new information is received.  This includes contact information and expected bid date for companies, Opportunity status, won/lost bid detail information, etc.  Capture all prospect development related activities in Atlas Activities.  Provide standard and ad hoc reports from Atlas and from Territory/TAS plans as requested. Technical/Executive Level Support: Provide high level technical/executive support for Sales VP including preparation for finalist meetings/capability presentations.  Maintains and updates power point presentations.  Manage special projects on an as needed basis.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related field. 6-8 years experience in a large, complex business environment, preferably in the health insurance industry -- including experience in proposal development and/or proposal coordination,  solid project management experience and administrative support experience preferably in a sales environment. Proven organizational skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy, including database management knowledge and use of Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated track record in building relationships internally and externally. Strong communication skills. Ability to navigate UnitedHealth Group and develop relationships with internal partners and external customers.
