Overview: ***Previous recent acute care RN hemodialysis experience required.*** The Kidney Center/Apheresis Unit is a vital component of the patient treatment system at BGSRMC, providing acute hemodialysis or apheresis treatments on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Our patient population encompasses many age ranges including adolescents, adults and geriatrics. • Our hemodialysis patients include those in acute renal failure, those newly diagnosed, hospitalized chronic renal failure patients, or transplant patients that are experiencing acute rejection episodes.• Patients requiring therapeutic apheresis include those with neuromuscular or blood disorders.• Patients requiring Stem Cell Collections prior to Bone Marrow Transplantation.• Patients requiring photopheresis for graft vs. host disease after Bone Marrow Transplantation. NUMBER OF STATIONS:11 dialysis beds, 2 apheresis beds and 2 chairs available. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) designated Banner Good Samaritan as a MAGNET recognized hospital and we recently celebrated our 2nd year anniversary for recognition in Nursing excellence. Responsibilities: NURSING CONCEPT:We use a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Our team includes a Renal Social Worker, Renal Nutritionist, Nephrologist, Clinical Care Manager, Dialysis RNs, a patient care assistant, and Biomed technicians. Each RN is responsible for total patient care of assigned patients, with ratio 1:1 for ICU or isolation patients and or 1:2 in the Kidney Center. ICU, on-call, team leading, apheresis, BMT collections and photopheresis are required for all RNs after they have demonstrated capability to work independently. SHIFTS AVAILABLE:There are ten-hour rotating shifts 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. four days a week and a few twelve-hour staggered shifts three days per week, with rotating call after hours and on Sunday. WEEKEND ROTATION:We work every other Saturday, with rotating call one Sunday per month for 12 hours. Qualifications: Must possess a current valid Arizona RN license or temporary Arizona RN license. Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired.
