The Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center plays a critical role within the Cardiac and Thoracic Service Line of Excellence supporting it's Heart & Lung Institute, the only stand-alone lung transplant center in the Nation. Committed to the highest level of patient satisfaction, our CICU unit is a dedicated 16-bed unit that supports St. Joseph's adult cardiac, vascular and thoracic post surgical patients and has a nurse to patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1. The Registered Nurse is expected to practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description.
