RN Cardiology

Camino Medical Group (CMG) is one of Northern California’s largest physician governed, multi-specialty medical groups. CMG is an affiliate of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, which is part of the Sutter Health family of not-for-profit hospitals and physician organizations that share resources and expertise to advance health care quality.Camino Medical Group's tradition of excellence began in 1954 when six physicians decided to work together and share ideas and resources. These physicians named the group Sunnyvale Medical Clinic. That tradition continued throughout the years as more and more physicians joined the group. In 1994, the clinic changed its name to Camino Medical Group. In 2000, Camino Medical Group affiliated with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, becoming a not-for-profit, community-based organization. The RN for Cardiology will be under the discretion of the physician, department manager or charge nurse and will assist with patient care, procedures and perform varied nursing duties. Provide direction, instruction, and assistance to staff. Responsible for overseeing the operations of the department, and clinic in the absence of the Department Manager. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.    Initiate standing orders in emergency situations.2.  Assist the physician in the examination of patients, record vital signs, perform routine tests (visual acuity, EKG, venipuncture and department specific, for example urine drug screens and pulmonary functions tests); apply and remove dressings, administer medications, including narcotics; document and administer treatment in patient medical record. 3.  Maintain the environment to provide appropriate care.4.  Provide IV therapy as ordered.5.  Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to triage emergent and non-emergent calls.6.  Problem solves, using the nursing process.7.  Assume charge nurse position as assigned.8.  Provide direction and supervision to staff.9.  Function as a liaison between physician and patient.10.  Under the direction of a physician, phone in prescriptions, schedule diagnostic tests and return patient phone calls.11.  Process or delegate paper work as necessary for the department.12.  Perform all other nursing related duties, which are encompassed by their nursing licensure.13.  Perform patient assessment, utilizing the nursing process.14.  Responsible for instruction patients in the continuum of care. Requirements include BA/BS or equivalent clinical work experience, current CA Registered Nurse license, minimum of three years experience managing in a clinical setting. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills a must. Demonstrated problem solving and leadership abilities and a strong commitment to high level patient service and satisfaction also required.
