RN DIRECTOR, EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT - GREAT COMMUNITY HOSPITAL!
RN DIRECTOR, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS)
About Caritas Norwood (CNH): Caritas Norwood Hospital (CNH) is a licensed 264-bed community hospital serving 16 towns stretching southwest from Boston to Rhode Island. CNH joined the Caritas Christi health Care system in November 1997. In 1902, Eben Norton, MD, opened a small hospital on Washington Street with an operating room, five beds and a nurse. The modest beginning inspired local philanthropist, George Willet, and town leaders to establish Norwood Hospital as a chartered health care facility in 1919. Today, key services include obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, advanced surgery, cancer care, behavioral health, imaging, and emergency services.
CNH has 1,700 employees and ore than 300 physicians. The hospital had 13,000 admissions and nearly 50,000 ED visits in 2005. For several years, it has been the ninth busiest ED in the state. Major expansions in recent years included a 14,000-square-foot, 28 bed emergency department with a pediatric wing staffed by Children’s Hospital pediatricians and a cardiac catheterization lab providing primary angioplasty which will be expanded later this year to include elective procedures.
