(RN) Nurse Educator

Job Details: The nurse who joins the CardioVascular Team as our educator will be educating NICU staff to care for the highest acuity post-op CV patients. The right nurse for this role will be an experienced pediatric or neonatal CV ICU nurse who enjoys working with colleagues, patients and families. The person in this position will assist in maintaining the CV database (CardioAccess) on patients cared for at Rady Children's Hospital. For more information on this critical role, please call our Nurse Recruiter at 858-966-5495 JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Educator - RN works directly with the leadership team and staff to ensure that unit educational needs are met. Collaborates with other Educators/CNS's to ensure that mechanisms are in place to maintain quality patient care, utilizing specialty and other regulatory standards. Provides staff support and facilitates orientation, continuing education and compliance with standards of care. Serves as an active member on hospital committees related to clinical education. Acts as a role model for professional nursing practice. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing At least one year of previous experience as a preceptor Two years of previous clinical experience Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross provider) Current professional RN licensure in State of California PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in either education or clinical specialty Two years previous clinical education experience Four years of previous clinical experience EOE/M/F/D/V
