RN - Trauma Coordinator*

Eden Medical Center is a 387-bed, not-for-profit medical center with approximately 2000 employees at our two campuses. The Eden Campus in scenic Castro Valley includes Eden Medical Center, Laurel Grove Acute Rehabilitation Hospital and Baywood Court Skilled Nursing Facility. The San Leandro campus includes San Leandro Hospital. Eden is home to the regional Level II Trauma Center for Southern Alameda County, the Sutter East Bay Neuroscience Center, adult psychiatry, a wide range of rehabilitation services, a complete Birthing Center, Community Cancer Center, advanced imaging services and complete surgical and acute-care services.Through our affiliation with Sutter Health, Eden Medical Center is part of a large network of not-for-profit hospitals and care centers in Northern California and is linked to nearly 30 acute care hospitals and 4,000 physicians throughout the region. Together, we’re working to improve the health of our communities. The role of the Trauma Coordinator is to promote the delivery of optimal, cost-effective trauma care.  This individual coordinates the systems and services required for an organized, comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of the critically injured patient.  The functions of this role include administrative responsibilities, clinical activities, professional and public education, performance improvement, and trauma research.  Each of these role components requires the Trauma Nursing Director to function as a consultant/liaison, clinical resource, educator and researcher. 50% of this position involves chart review and quality review for Trauma Services. 50% of the position is responsible for injury prevention in the community (community outreach, Every 15 Minutes program, etc.). The Trauma Coordinator is directly accountable to the VP of Patient Care Services and the Trauma Medical Director.The positions reports directly to the Director of Emergency and Trauma Services.Bachelor's Degree Current RN license, ACLS, TNCC, CEN or CCRN certification, TNCC instructor preferred. Must have trauma experience.  Injury prevention experience and progressive management responsibiilties desired.
