RN Ventricular Assistive Device (VAD) Coordinator

It is the responsibility of the Professional Nurse to implement the Hospital's mission and goals through established policies, procedures, and performance improvement activities. Implementation of these goals occurs through organization and administration of individualized age-specific professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital. The understanding of the principals of growth and development will be incorporated to assess each patient's age-specific needs and determine age-specific treatment modalities. The ideal candidate will coordinate care of all Ventricular Assistive Device (VAD) patients from pre-implant to outpatient follow up. Work with Community EMS and local ED to ensure health care providers have basic knowledge of the device. On-call coverage required Current NJ RN license Current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider Cardiac Critical Care experience required Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills Experience with VAD preferred Additional certifications may be required Additional experience/training may be required based on departmental specific needs.
