Requirements: Registered NurseAt least 3 years experience in a clinic setting.Basic Life Support Certification required.IV Certification required; will provide certification class.Experience in coordination and direction of clinical processes and patient follow-up, ensuring the efficient communications and flow of clinical functions; Interfaces closely with Clinic Supervisor, PSR Leads and office staff. Internal Position Summary/Purpose : Under the direction of their departmental supervisor, this individual assists medical staff with efficient and smooth operations of the medical office. Provides the increased level of care and expectations of a RN in an outpatient clinic facility, including nursing care, treatments, procedures, assessments, and decisions making skills. This position will function as an integral part of the Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group Franklin Medical Office Building Walk-In center.Description: 1. Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the clinic, and through clinic for ancillary services.2. Greet, assess and interview patients, obtaining past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, vital signs, weight, height, reviewing present medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint. Act as a liaison between doctor and patient: explain medication, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes. Screen for health maintenance criteria. Update medication list and current problem list.3. Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment or procedure by physician/clinician. 4. Anticipate need for assessment and monitoring, and follow through in providing the assessmentand monitoring of patient during examination, treatment, emergency, acute illness, orprocedure.5. Maintain and update level of skill in IV insertion/removal, urinary catheterization, injections, sterile technique, knowledge of patient medication.6. Upkeep and maintenance of nurse and patient care area. Stocking and ordering of supplies as needed.7. Responsibly charge and code all supplies, medications and procedures.8. Keep current CPR certification and LPN licensure. Attend required emergency training sessions, OSHA training sessions, and staff meetings.9. Accurate and timely documentation of nursing interventions according to state nursing licensure guidelines. Follow clinic policies and procedures as they relate to Human Resources, Nursing, and Exposure Control. 10. Respond to patient's concerns in person or by telephone while simultaneously assessing and documenting the problem.11. Participates in educational conferences. Updates and maintains professional knowledge and skill related to areas of practice.12. Provides a caring environment and have the maturity to understand and deal empathetically with patient's needs and questions. Must be an excellent verbal communicator and project a professional image.13. Maintains patient confidentiality.14. Able to float to other areas.15. Participate in training and skills development of new personnel.16. Contributes to the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Systems Organizational Direction on an annual basis as defined by the Performance Excellence Program.17.
