Receptionist, Medical Office

Job Purpose:

Serves patients by greeting and helping them; supports physician staff by representing physicians; documents, telephone calls; scheduling patient appointments and arranging referrals; patient correspondence; maintaining office files and patient records.



Duties:

* Represents physicians by screening incoming telephone calls; recording and transmitting messages; scheduling, receiving, and announcing scheduled patients and visitors; screening unscheduled patients and visitors, etc., other duties as posted by office manager.

* Keep patient appoinments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule.  Ensures physician productivity by maintaining calendars; scheduling patient appointments and physician referrals.

* In charge of medical records.

* Generates revenues by completing direct patient and third-party billing information.

* Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

* Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications (provided by office).

* Enhances physician office reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
