Recreational Therapist

Position Description:

 

A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team develops a plan of care for each therapy patient and provides skilled recreational therapy services in accordance with physician orders.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Administers, Scores, and Interprets Various Tests

 

  Interviews and Observes Veterans to Assess Aptitudes and Interests

 

  Plans effective treatment and recommends treatment objectives

 

  Administers Treatment utilizing the recreational therapy modality with individual/groups of

patients having physical, emotional and social disabilities.

   

  Evaluates and adjusts treatments

 

  Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

   

  At least one year of current experience in Recreation Therapy

 

  Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)

 

  Basic Life Support (BLS)

 

  Water Safety and Health Fitness Instructor certifications preferred

 

  Current Health Certificate per contract or state requirement

 

  Current PPD or Chest x-ray

 

  Successful completion of Maxim screening test with a score of 80% or greater.

 

  Must meet all of Maxim’s pre-employment screening requirements
