Recruiting and Sales Director

American Red Cross Blood Services
Southern California Region

is looking for a motivated and driven Recruiting and Sales Director to work in our San Diego territory. This position requires excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, problem resolution, and strategic planning skills, along with a high level of energy.  Demonstrated ability in sales, supervisory skills and Blood Banking experience is required.

Job Summary:

Supervise and coordinate the work of recruitment staff to ensure achievement of annual blood collection goals and effective blood donor group development, chair support, and implementation of recruitment strategies.  Assist in analysis of operational data, development of overall recruitment strategies for the region, and implementing action plans through supervised staff and training personnel.

Major Responsibilities:

 Ensure annual region bloodmobile/special collection calendar is developed and maintained to meet the needs of the region and the budged collection goal.Develop and implement training programs for all new and incumbent recruitment staff to ensure compliance with the ARC Blood Services directives, the Code of Federal Regulations, local procedures and policies and other regulatory requirements.Oversee the implementation of recruitment plans and programs among assigned staff to ensure achievement of recruitment goals.Supervise assigned staff in accordance with personnel policies and bargaining unit contracts, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and appropriate input into hiring and firing decisions, to enhance the success of operations and minimize turnover.Assist with budget monitoring to assure sufficiency and efficient utilization of financial resources to achieve stated collection goals.Serve as creative and operational resource to recruitment staff and to participating chapter staff and volunteers as needed to assure smooth operations.

 Qualifications:

 Bachelors degree in marketing, sales, communications, related field, or equivalent requiredMust have minimum 4 years Blood Banking experienceMinimum four years of progressively responsible sales experience requiredKnowledge of group dynamics, direct sales, customer maintenance techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is requiredMust possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, assimilate information quickly, analyze problems and recommend appropriate solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills required

Salary: $55K base + incentives
