Referral Coordinator-OB/GYN Clinic

 Located in the heart of the Baltimore West Side Revitalization, near Camden Yards and Harbor attractions, University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) coordinates and supports the clinical activities of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. We employ over 900 non-physician staff who support the clinical practices of our faculty.

Currently, we are seeking a Referral Coordinator for our OB/GYN department.

Duties will include: entering referrals into IDX accurately based on specialty and payer requirements; reviewing referral forms for accuracy prior to each visit; communicating with PCP offices to obtain referrals and additional information; obtaining authorization for services from health plans; verifying patient benefits and eligibility; and other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicants will possess: H.S. diploma or equivalent (GED); 2-3 years medical office experience; knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding; strong customer service skills; and PC proficiency. Knowledge of IDX or similar billing system and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
